PUBLICATION AND EDITORIAL DESIGN

Introduction

Our world is faced with exponential problems. From climate change to gender inequality, social problems grow fast and mutate even faster, surface differently in different contexts and affect all of us in one way or another. What if we could address these exponential problems with exponential change?

Think Scale, Think Speed and Think Sustain are an opportunity to flip the lens. To move beyond replicating what works in one context to designing for scale. To create change that inspires more and rapid changes. To solve small and shift the status-quo, irreversibly.

The Challenge

To develop a visual language that seamlessly evolves across the three books, effectively communicating Societal Thinking as a pathway to design for change at scale, with speed and sustainably.

The Design Intervention

The design language for the series draws inspiration from the natural ecosystem of a rainforest, where each element operates independently yet harmoniously within the larger environment. This symbolism is captured through a monochromatic palette of green shades, representing growth, harmony, and sustainability.

The visual system developed for the series evolves with each book. In Think Scale, lines symbolize interconnectedness; in Think Speed, circles represent collectiveness; and in Think Sustain, the final book, lines and dots converge to embody the rainforest metaphor. Each book features ten master spreads with primary illustrations, followed by pages that consistently uphold the thematic approach. Each spread introduces a new illustration that aligns with the quotes and themes on the page.

The Think Series is more than just a collection of books; it’s a companion on the journey toward envisioning and achieving impact at scale. These volumes guide readers as they learn from global thinkers and practitioners, reimagine possibilities, and embark on bold, transformative endeavours.
